Music Festival to Promote and Exercise Eco-Friendly Ways

Have you ever been driving in the country and found yourself looking at those amazing windmills that spin time and time again, creating energy for us?

I know, I have. This is why it seemed so interesting to me that a music festival was going to run power from one of its stages, by the people attending, riding bicycles.

Eight bicycles will be used to generate enough power to run a stage at this weekends music festival in Sullivan run by Operation Adaptation.

And if you think the environmentally friendly practices stop there, you are sorely mistaken. Some other 'green' activities at the festival will include...
  • The purchasing of carbon credits to offset CO2 emissions let off by the festival;
  • Environmentally Friendly Vendors;
  • Corn-based Dishes and Utensils; and
  • For every ticket sold, a tree will be planted
Now if that is not a 'green festival' I don't know what is. The tickets are $30 and there will also be camping avaliable to guests.

The only question that I have is, how many bikers do you think it would take to run one of these
for a day.
